The Bulk Termination tool lets you terminate multiple employees in a single step. It is designed specifically for situations where you are approaching or have reached your licence limit. Once all employees in a company are terminated, that company no longer counts towards your licence limit.
Important: This tool processes zero-dollar terminations only. If an employee is owed leave payouts, payment in lieu of notice, or other termination amounts, process that employee individually from the Pays screen instead. In the desktop app
- Open the Tools menu and select Bulk Termination Wizard.
- In the wizard, select the employees you want to terminate from the employee list. You can select multiple employees.
- Enter the Termination Date. The date cannot be earlier than an employee's start date or set in the future.
- Select the STP Cessation Type that applies to all selected employees (AU only). Common options include Voluntary Cessation (resignation or retirement) and Dismissal.
- Click Finish to complete the batch termination.
In the online (web/mobile) app
- Go to Tools >> Bulk Termination Wizard.
- Select the employees you want to terminate from the employee list.
- Enter the Termination Date. The date cannot be earlier than any selected employee's start date or set in the future.
- Select the Termination Reason that applies to all selected employees (for example, Voluntary Cessation for a resignation).
- Click Terminate Selected Employees to process the batch.

After completing the termination, each selected employee remains in the system for record-keeping purposes but is marked as terminated and no longer counts towards your active employee total.
