When you click Export to Xero or Export to MYOB AccountRight from the pay run reports menu and your subscription does not include the Accounting Integration Add-On, Lightning Payroll displays an Accounting Integration Add-On Notice dialog.
What Is the Notice Telling You?
The notice explains that sending payroll journals or direct entry transactions to Xero or MYOB now requires the Accounting Integration Add-On, which became a paid feature from 1 January 2026. Before that date these exports were available as a free beta. The dialog is shown once so you are aware of the change before being directed to purchase the add-on.
How Do You Dismiss the Notice?
- Read the notice in the Accounting Integration Add-On Notice dialog.
- Type your first and last name into the Your Name field.
- Click I Understand.
Lightning Payroll records your name and the date you acknowledged the notice. The dialog will not appear again on this installation.
What Happens After You Acknowledge?
After acknowledging, if you are the account administrator and are not accessing Lightning Payroll through a reseller, an upgrade prompt appears so you can add the Accounting Integration Add-On to your subscription. Once the add-on is active, the Export to Xero and Export to MYOB AccountRight menu items will work without further prompts.
