Answer
An Agent subscription is designed for accountants and bookkeepers who process payroll for many client businesses. Standard (non-agent) plans include an allowance of 2 active companies (5 on Enterprise) and can be extended to a maximum of 10 with Extra Company Add-Ons. When you need to manage more than 10 client companies, an Agent subscription is the right plan.
How Agent Plans Are Sized
Agent plans are sized by the number of client companies you manage, not by employee count. Every Agent plan includes unlimited employees, and covers up to 25, 50, 100, or an unlimited number of companies.
The Accounting Integration Add-On (for sending payroll data to Xero and MYOB AccountRight) is included with every Agent plan at no extra cost.
Choosing and Buying a Plan
You can compare Agent tiers and current pricing on our pricing page. Agent plans are available on both annual and monthly terms.
If you already have a standard subscription and need to move to an Agent plan, log in to your account and click View/Renew/Upgrade Subscriptions, then choose Upgrade. When you upgrade, the remaining value of your current subscription is automatically credited towards the Agent plan, so you only pay the difference. Managing Client Companies
You can keep each client as a separate company (entity) within Lightning Payroll and switch between them.
