Answer
Lightning Payroll is provided under a Software Licence Agreement, which you accept when you start a subscription or trial. If you have a problem with the software, please contact our support team first — we will do our best to resolve it.
Change of Mind
Fees are not refunded if you stop using Lightning Payroll before the end of your current subscription term. Cancelling stops your subscription from renewing — it stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then expires. See How Do I Cancel My Subscription?
Faults and Your Statutory Rights
The software carries a 30-day warranty for defects from your purchase date. Nothing in our agreement limits the statutory consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies — these continue to apply to the extent they cannot be excluded.
Upgrades and Downgrades
If you upgrade mid-term, the remaining value of your current subscription is credited towards the new plan, so you are not charged twice for the same period. A downgrade takes effect at the end of your current term, and no refund is issued for unused time.
For the full terms, please refer to the Software Licence Agreement you accepted when signing up, or contact our support team to discuss your situation.
