Answer
"From 1 November 2021, where new employees do not choose a super fund, most employers will have to check with the ATO if their employee has an existing super account, known as a 'stapled super fund', to pay the employee's super guarantee into."
You will need to slightly change your employee onboarding process. In the desktop app you can request the stapled fund details from the ATO without leaving Lightning Payroll: go to Company >> ATO API, complete the ATO API registration and 2FA verification on that screen, choose the employee, click Stapled Super Fund Lookup, then click Check for Responses to collect the ATO's reply. See How Do I Use the Stapled Super Fund Lookup Feature in Lightning Payroll? for the full steps. Please see here to learn what you need to do differently when setting up a new employee's super, from November 1st, 2021.
