To enable HECS, HELP, TSL or any other Study and Training Support Loan (STSL) withholding for an employee, tick the Deduct STSL (HELP, TSL, SFSS, etc.) checkbox on that employee's tax settings.
In the desktop app: go to the Employees tab, select the employee, open Tax Rates >> Tax Settings, and tick Deduct STSL (HELP, TSL, SFSS, etc.). Save the changes.
In the online (web/mobile) app: go to Employees, select the employee, open the Tax >> Tax Settings tab, and tick Deduct STSL (HELP, TSL, SFSS, etc.). Save the changes.
Once ticked, Lightning Payroll will automatically calculate and withhold the correct STSL amount based on the employee's income and the ATO's current repayment thresholds.
