Answer
Farm Focus GL code mapping lets you link your payroll pay items to Farm Focus account codes so that pays can be exported directly to your Farm Focus farm management system. This feature requires the Farm Focus add-on on your subscription. For details on purchasing or adding the add-on, see How Do I Export Payroll Data to Farm Focus?
Enabling Farm Focus GL Codes
In the desktop app: Go to Company >> GL Codes and tick Enable Farm Focus GL Codes.
In the online (web/mobile) app: Go to Company >> General Ledger Codes and switch on Enable Farm Focus GL Codes.
Enabling this toggle switches the GL code table into Farm Focus mode. Standard account label and code fields are replaced with Farm Focus account code fields.
Downloading Farm Focus Codes
- After enabling Farm Focus GL codes, click Download Farm Focus Codes.
- A browser window will open. Complete the Farm Focus login to authorise the connection.
- Return to Lightning Payroll and click Download Farm Focus Codes again to complete the download.
Once codes are downloaded successfully, a status message confirms that the codes were downloaded (Farm Focus Codes Downloaded). If the download fails, an error message will appear ÔÇö check your internet connection and try again.

Mapping Pay Items to Farm Focus Codes
After downloading, use the mapping table to assign a Farm Focus account code to each pay item row.
- Click a row in the table to edit it.
- Select the appropriate Farm Focus Code from the dropdown. The Selected Code label updates to confirm the code name.
- Optionally tick Split submissions by pay for this code if you want each individual pay submitted separately under this account code rather than as an aggregate total.
- Save the row and repeat for each pay item.
Every pay item row must have a Farm Focus code assigned before you can submit pays to Farm Focus. If any rows are missing a code, Lightning Payroll will warn you when you attempt to submit.

Restore Defaults
The Restore Lightning Payroll Defaults, Restore Xero Defaults, and Restore MYOB Defaults buttons reset the GL code table to preset values. These actions overwrite your current mappings, so use them with care. They are not Farm Focus-specific and will clear any Farm Focus code assignments you have made.
